About Our Permanent Lighting Work in Scotia
We are a small lighting contractor installing permanent roofline lighting on homes in Scotia, NY. Before anything goes up, we walk you through the track, the lights and the controller. We explain what each choice means for your home exterior, so you decide with clear information in hand.

Why we start with materials
Most permanent lighting looks alike in a product photo. The difference shows up after a few winters. Does the track stay straight? Does the color still match the trim? Can a single failed light be swapped without pulling down a whole run? That is why our first visit is less a sales pitch and more a conversation about what will actually hang on your roofline.
We bring samples. You can hold an aluminum channel next to a clip-mounted system, see how a low-profile track sits under the drip edge, and compare finish colors against your fascia and gutters in daylight. Aluminum channel hides the wiring and keeps spacing even, but it costs more and needs a clean, straight mounting line. Clips cost less and suit fascia that is uneven or partly tucked behind gutters, though the cable stays a little more visible.
Once you choose, we write the quote around those specific parts, so you know what you are paying for. On install day we route wire neatly, seal every penetration and clean up before we leave. Then we set up the app-controlled schedule with you, so the lights run the way you want year-round, from soft warm white on ordinary evenings to color for the holidays.
How we work on every home
- 01
Samples before decisions
You see and handle the actual track, lights and finish colors at your house. Picking a color from a screen is how trim mismatches happen.
- 02
A quote that names the parts
Your quote lists the mounting system, the linear feet, the controller and where it draws power. If something changes once we look closer, we tell you before work starts.
- 03
Mounting chosen for winter
Snow sliding off a roof and ice in the gutters strain anything fastened at the edge. We pick fasteners and placement with that in mind and keep the lights clear of where ice tends to build.
- 04
Care for the house itself
We use ladder standoffs so rungs do not dent gutters, and we set fasteners into solid trim rather than soft spots. If we find rot that should be repaired first, we show you.
Where we install
We work from Scotia across the surrounding area, including Glenville, East Glenville, Schenectady, Rotterdam, Niskayuna, Guilderland, Clifton Park, Ballston, Country Knolls and Charlton. Many homes here pair older wood trim with newer vinyl or aluminum, and we plan the mounting around whichever your house has, so the finished line looks like it belongs there.
